Even with all the blowing snow, skiers and snowboarders are at Mt. Spokane enjoying the powder and trying out their new Christmas gear.
All this winter weather is good news for local ski areas. Schweitzer Mountain opened Friday, while Lookout Pass is planning to start its lifts Saturday and 49 Degrees North opening Sunday.
Silver Mountain is not the first place that comes to your mind when summer rolls around, but that may soon change. On Saturday, the resort opened its new water park while the skiing continued on the mountain.
The Mount Spokane ski and snowboard park is pitching plans to open up 400 acres on the backside of the mountain, which has caused some debate between the park and environmentalists.
