SPOKANE -- While most high school students spend their afternoons watching TV or playing video games, senior Brian Blimka likes to spend his cold, blustery fall afternoons on the Grand Ronde River.
"The clear water and the Grand Ronde is awesome for Steelhead," Blimka said. "You can just go right up there after school, catch some nice brun fish. "
While his friends are playing a game of football or watching t.v. shows, Blimka is busy fishing Steelhead.
"It's fun being with your friends but I'd rather catch some Steelhead," Blimka said. "I can't think of anything better than that."
When it comes to fishing, this Bantam senior is an expert. He says fishing in the deep pools saves money and gear.
"The bobber fishing does really good and I like using those Marabou jigs," Blimka said. "It seems to be more productive for me.
Blimka landed his first job as a deck-hand last weekend. He dreams of becoming a fishing guide in the future.
